Art Week Tokyo is an annual showcase of the creativity and diversity of contemporary art in Tokyo. Seeking to stimulate the growth of Tokyo’s art ecosystem, the event connects over 50 of the city’s leading museums, galleries, and art spaces through four days of coordinated programming.
Alongside a stellar lineup of exhibitions featuring historic artists, contemporary stars, and emerging talents, this year’s edition of Art Week Tokyo also sees the return of the curated sales platform AWT Focus under the direction of Mami Kataoka, director of the Mori Art Museum. Titled “Earth, Wind, and Fire: Visions of the Future from Asia,” Kataoka’s exhibition brings together 57 artists and groups from Japan, Asia, and beyond.

アートウィーク東京（AWT）は、東京における現代アートの創造性と多様性を国内外に発信する年に一度のイベントです。4日間の会期中は、東京を代表する50以上の美術館・ギャラリーがそれぞれのコレクションや展示と共に参加者を迎えるほか、AWTも様々な独自プログラムを開催し、アートのエコシステムの成長促進を目指します。
AWT独自プログラムのひとつである「AWT FOCUS」は、美術館での作品鑑賞とギャラリーでの作品購⼊という2つの体験を掛け合わせた「買える展覧会」です。展示は毎年異なるテーマのもとでキュレーションされ、出展作品はすべて購入できます。
2024年は森美術館館長であり国立アートリサーチセンター長も兼任する片岡真実を監修に迎え、日本やアジアを中心に世界各国57組のアーティストの作品を展示。「大地と風と火と：アジアから想像する未来」と題し、政治や経済など人為的な分類や力による統治ではなく、自然の摂理や不可視のエネルギーといった観点から世界を見つめるアジア的世界観を起点に、多様性が共存する未来を考えます。
