Amref Health Africa Artball: Benefit Auction 2019

The Amref Health Africa ArtBall is a premier contemporary African art auction and philanthropic event on Saturday, April 27, 2019 in New York City. South African artist and LGBTQI+ visual activist Zanele Muholi will be honored with the Rees Visionary Award. This award is given to artists Amref feels are creating exceptional work that educates, inspires, and emboldens the viewer through these challenging times. Muholi’s work, which addresses issues of human rights, especially that of the LGBTQI+ community in South Africa, is vital and powerful. Amref Health Africa is the largest African-based NGO in the world with over 100 health-centered programs across 35 countries in sub-Saharan Africa, reaching over nine million people a year.
