Artsy Auction: Post-War and Contemporary (September 2022)

Artsy presents an auction of standout post-war and contemporary works by leading artists across generations. The sale features works for every collector, including abstract canvases by Sam Gilliam and José Parlá; pop art by David Hockney, Yayoi Kusama, and Roy Lichtenstein; and unique works by emerging artists Sarah Slappey, Amoako Boafo, and Eddie Martinez—and more. A portion of the proceeds from the auction will benefit the Thurgood Marshall College Fund, a scholarship fund for students at historically Black colleges and universities.

The first 31 lots in the sale—including works by Khari Turner, Murjoni Merriweather, Ambrose Rhapsody Murray, and Na’ye Perez—are curated by Cereus Art, an organization dedicated to empowering young artists of color. A portion of the proceeds from these works will benefit the Orchid Foundation, a mentorship and scholarship program founded by Nichole Galicia to benefit underserved girls in high school and college. Select works in the sale will also benefit the Orchid Foundation, including standout canvases by Wilson Imini, Olayikanmi Olawale, and Yang Shen.

Bidding in the auction will start to close on Thursday, September 29th at 1pm EDT.
