The Wooster Group: Benefit Auction 2019

Art For Theater's Sake

New York’s experimental theater icons The Wooster Group are taking on Bertolt Brecht for the first time. Successful bids on this art auction will provide essential support to the company as it creates a new production of Brecht’s 1931 play The Mother.

Founded in the 1970s by Elizabeth LeCompte and Spalding Gray, The Wooster Group has re-imagined classic texts and devised new theater forms. The Group has created over thirty theater and dance productions, as well as multiple film, video, and audio works.

We’d like to thank the artists and individuals who generously donated artwork, and the 2019 auction committee who carefully selected the artists: Phil Chang, Shannon Richardson Dickson, Matthew Dipple, Robert Gober, Laurie Hawkinson, Matt Keegan, Alan Mark and Jeffrey Fraenkel, Cameron Martin, Sheila Pepe, Eva Respini, Natalia Sacasa, Olivia Shao, Debra Singer, Kate Werble, Linda Yablonsky.
