Washington Project for the Arts: HIGH FREQUENCY Benefit Auction 2020

Washington Project for the Arts x Artsy present Washington Project for the Arts: HIGH FREQUENCY Benefit Auction 2020. Founded in 1975 and based in Washington, DC, Washington Project for the Arts (WPA) is a platform for collaborative and experimental artist-driven projects, dialogue, and advocacy.

WPA celebrates its 45th anniversary with renewed commitment to the immediate needs of the artist community. We have pivoted and expanded our work in response to the current crisis, including adapting our upcoming programs for the virtual space, and launching the Wherewithal Recovery Grants, which provided relief to nearly 100 artists in need. We invite you to join us in our efforts to support the artist community through HIGH FREQUENCY: a Benefit Auction in support of Artists and WPA. Proceeds from the sale are split between the artists and WPA, so your purchase directly supports artists during this uncertain time, while also enabling WPA to continue producing important contemporary art programs-- now, and into the future!

WPA is enormously grateful to the many artists participating in HIGH FREQUENCY. Many, such as Fred Wilson, had career-changing exhibitions at WPA early in their careers. The others came by way of their recommendations, or were invited by WPA staff. We also thank the HIGH FREQUENCY corporate sponsors and host committee members for their generous support and commitment.

Browse lots and place bids before the sale closes on Thursday, August 13th at 6:30pm EDT.
