Renaissance
The Renaissance is arguably the most celebrated period of art history, spanning from the 14th through 16th centuries in Europe. During the Renaissance (French for “rebirth”), the rediscovery of classical sculptures from Ancient Greece and Rome inspired artists to renew the centuries-old pursuit of representing human bodies with idealized beauty. While most Renaissance paintings and sculptures are held in the permanent collections of museums like the Louvre, the Uffizi, and the Duomo, prints by masters like Albrecht Dürer offer collectors the opportunity to collect a precious artifact from one of the most celebrated eras of art and cultural history.
