Negative Image
About
Artworks—usually photographs—featuring imagery that resembles a “negative.” In traditional photography, a negative image was what was exposed on film when a photograph was taken. The process of printing a picture involved reversing the image, so that all its negative values were made positive. In color photography, the negative image contains complementary colors to that which is being photographed.
