Post-'70s Ego Generation
About
Used to describe a subset of Chinese contemporary artists who were born in or after the 1970s. While the preceding generation of artists were dealing with their nation's collective history, Post-‘70s artists generally demonstrate a return to the self, which is seen as an effect of China's One Child Policy and the far-reaching implications of growing up as only children. Major figures include Wei Jia, Chen Ke, and Li Jikai.
