For as long as Yvonne Melchers can remember she dreamt of rooms with beautiful views in the countries around the Mediterranean. To open the shutters in the morning and be surprised by a sun-drenched landscape, with in the distance the ever-changing colors of blue, green, purple and pink of the sea or a lakes. Those rooms were not always reserved for her but luckily as an artist she created her own preferred views.

She was inspired by Pieter de Hooch (1629-1684), who was famous for his interiors with views: there is always a door or a window open through which you can have a look outside.
