In this year’s first online edition of 1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair in partnership with Artsy, Afriart Gallery makes its New York debut by presenting the works of three artists, namely, Stacey Gillian Abe, Sanaa Gateja and Sungi Mlengeya.

Gateja’s practice is shaped by an affinity towards an environmental ethic both in materiality and subject. His installations and sculptures shaped by paper beads made from recycled paper further embodies an ecological consciousness in its formation.
