Approximately Blue represents the work and collection of master printmaker Steven M. Andersen, a longtime friend and collaborator of Sam Gilliam. The two have worked closely together to develop both the Dogon and Marathon series; suites of works that are now considered archetypal of the artist’s most accomplished oeuvres.
