Join us for an Artist Talk with Owen Leong. Owen Leong is a Sydney-based contemporary artist exploring the transmission of culture and the body as a physical site of exchange. His work transforms the body through fictional selves to open a space for new identities to come into being. Leong has exhibited widely in Australia and internationally including solo exhibitions at 4A Centre for Contemporary Asian Art, Sydney and as part of major group exhibitions at Today Art Museum, Beijing and the Zendai Museum of Modern Art, Shanghai. In 2015, Leong was the winner of the prestigious Josephine Ulrick and Win Schubert Photography Award.

Join us for an Artist Talk with Shoufay Derz. Shoufay Derz is a Sydney based artist of both German and Taiwanese ancestry. Through the mediums of photography, sculpture and video installation her recent artwork is a personal reflection on death and the meaning of emptiness. Derz has exhibited as part of the 2014 Adelaide Biennale of Art and is a previous recipient of the Blake Prize. Her work is held in numerous public and private collections including the Art Gallery of South Australia.

Join us for an Artist Talk with Sam Holt. Sam Holt is an emerging Sydney based artist whose visceral and spontaneous paintings engage with the imagination and the enigmatic. His works are ‘landscapes’ of the mind, yet his calligraphic mark-making and sparse expanses of canvas also have resonances with nature. Holt has studied at the National Art School and is currently undertaking further studies at Sydney College of the Arts, University of Sydney. He has held numerous solo exhibitions and is included in significant private and public collections throughout Australia.

Join us for an Artist Talk with Liam Benson. Liam Benson is a performance artist who documents his work through photography, video and new media. Benson’s work deconstructs the social perceptions of gender, race, culture, sexuality and identity by cross- referencing art, popular culture and media language. He mines the visual language and communication formats of advertising and popular media to document his performances as both still photographs and video for a form of contemporary myth making. Benson is the previous winner and recipient of the 2011 Hazelhurst Art on Paper Award, the 2011 Fishers Ghost Art Prize and the 2013 Josephine Ulrick and Win Schubert Photography Award.
