Barbara Paci Art Gallery is proud to present its newest contemporary art exhibition in Pietrasanta: "D'Oro è il Giardino", on the occasion of the 6th edition of the Collectors Night. The exhibition shows the paintings of Andrea Collesano and the sculpures of Nicola Lazzari: more than 30 works of two Tuscan artists, both focused on the profound connection that they have with the Mediterranean Nature. This land, with its flora and fauna, has always been their inspiring muse and the essence of their art and life. The exhibition's itinerary narrates - through the dialogue between Lazzari's small bronze animals and those in ink on aged paper by Collesano - the perfect communion between human beings and nature, between the Earth and the animal world. Our two artists will lead the visitors into the silence of the Tuscan countryside by the hand, surprising them with creatures that - connected with the land that has been given to them - have always handed down the secret of life. In 2019 Andrea Collesano left the studio-home on the Tuscan coeast where he created his more marine-inspired India ink drawings and moved to the country house where he spent his childhood summers. Nomen est omen, as the Latin phrase goes: the destiny od a name, And the surname Collesano, made uo of the Italian words "colle" ("hill") and "sano" ("healthy", "wholesome"), is a perfect example. His studio faces onto a rolling hill of alfalfa and wheat, dominated by harrier eagles, broad-winged hawks, small Kestrels and other birds of prey. And that "sano" recalls a harmonious bond, interwoven with an awareness of the interconnection between human being and nature, between the artist and his natural surroundings. Don't look for human figures in Collesano's ink drawings, son't expect the scandalous wonder or the amusement park entertainment of some of today's art. Andrea Collesano's contemporary works arouse a deeper wonder, merged with the indisputable quality of his technique.
