Bonne Espérance presents the first exhibit in Paris of works by Juhan Kuus, one of the most fascinating photographers in South African history.

Kuus was born into a working-class family in Cape Town in 1953. He dropped out of school at 17. With no formal education in photography, he got a job as a darkroom assistant and eventually as a photo reporter.
