LILACH PNINA LIVNE DILEMMA: UNCONDITIONALLY Exhausted from the existing reality and its never-ending cycle of hopelessness, a group of women seek new paths of being-in-the-world, ones that position compassion and intimacy above all else. Confronted with the depressive dilemma of trying to form a new world in an already existing one, these women aim to expand the images of themselves - journeying from the mundane, the sexual, the bodily, the gaze... transcending into the reflective, the intimate, the abstract... and diving into a re-birth of that which they can and strive to be - far beyond the logic and habits of this violent two-dimensional world… Spread across the 3 floors of the Bastille Design Center, this performative work lasts approx. 3 hours and is divided into 3 layers that are occuring simultsneously. On the middle floor is a group of 6 diverse women practicing compassion using their bodily existence - through touch, a look in the eyes, the locking of fingers, a comforting position, together. On the upper floor are 3 women from different stages of life, each sat in her own room, open for a true conversation with audience members about that which fears them the most. On the down floor is a single woman, a mother, the artist of this work, naked and existing with her little boy son in the gallery space - a private raw intimacy showcased in public. The 10 living performers in Dilemma: Unconditionally are ever surrounded by the comforting yet powerful figures in Rebecca Brodskis’ paintings - together forming a new intimate landscape of women, by women.

NINA CORNÉE, ANNA GIANFORCARO AND LULMA GUIT ATTENTION À LA CHAIR “ Three female bodies meet and attract each other. ‘Can I tell you something? You have a truly beautiful voice’, ‘Excuse me, I don’t happen to have a bloodstain on by behind by any chance?’, ‘Do you find yourself beautiful?’ are the phrases that heralded our friendships. It was primarily through the physicality of our bodies that lead us to approach each other weave our relationships, and our three-way relationship. A space of exchange, emulation, and creation when our three bodies jostle and pamper each other amid present doubts and questions: how do we identify with others and position ourselves in the world as a woman? After having met at our university’s philosophy course, our paths split. Anna Gianforcaro is an actress and studies dramatic arts at a conservatoire in the 8th arrondissement of Paris. Nina Cornée is perusing a master’s in visual anthropology at the University of Aix-Marseille, exploring the boundaries between journalistic, poetic genres and the writing of fundamental academic research. Lulma Guit has just started at the Beaux-Arts in Paris, showing interest in the various ways literature can exist outside of physical inscription. From our three paths emerge three writing styles, three ways of relating to the body and three chapters of the female body that we would like to narrate. Discovering womanhood through the often-sexualising external gaze, reclaiming one’s own body, the societal pressure to conform to the aesthetics of femininity even in work and times of illness and the prospect of ageing. These are the main pillars on which we want to base our collective work. Our project combines the written text of three voices with a performance focusing on space and sound with the aim of making the audience feel their own bodies through the perception of ours. This allows us to transcend the act of writing to best present the life of a chimera we’ve carefully crafted in the image of our friendship. The personal experiences of our three bodies will be assembled in a way to create a new, almost monstrous, shared lived body. Through an extensive sensory tour of the body, the story of the body will arise, that of a woman where our three perspectives and specialisms meet – exploring and sharing a multisensory experience through our hybrid artistic format.”
