Born out of a necessity to contextualise Schmidt's work within both his own oeuvre and within the work of a younger generation of artists; the show acts as a retrospective in which the importance of Schmidt's practice of observation of public, private and social spaces are brought to the fore.

The show allows us to step into the mind of Erik Schmidt: an observer and narrator of a story that is unfolding before our eyes and materialised through the works of art.
