A new exhibition venue on the South Side of Chicago, Stony Island Arts Bank will offer both an international platform for contemporary art and a cultural space for the local community. The building was formerly a bank, and its refurbishment and programming have been launched by the Rebuild Foundation under the direction of artist Theaster Gates. The public opening of Stony Island Arts Bank and its inaugural exhibition will take place as part of the Chicago Architecture Biennial.
