In 1983, the islands in Biscayne Bay, Greater Miami, were surrounded with 6.5 million square feet of floating pink woven polypropylene fabric covering the surface of the water and extending out from each island into the bay. For two weeks, Surrounded Islands, spread over 7 miles and was enjoyed by the public. On the right is a unique mixed-media work on paper with photo collage and on the left is a limited-edition color lithograph including actual pink polypropylene fabric used for the project.
