Sacred Places is a series of intimate portraits that explores the idea of painting the soul, the inner person, the essence, who we are. The artist takes as a reference the way in which we live to create these portraits and describe a person. Gaber creates a drawing of the interior of a home and extracts an abstraction of it to represent its intimacy. The homes represented on these works are houses of friends. Houses the artist has inhabited, and houses of people interested on this project who have been kind enough to open their spaces to William’s eye.
