Veduta" is Coraline de Chiara's first solo exhibition at Claire Gastaud Gallery in Paris. The title of the exhibition takes us back to the Vedutas, particularly those by Canaletto, which depict perspectives of the Gran Canale in Venice. In her canvases, Coraline de Chiara seems to 'channel' the gaze: the word evokes the idea of navigating a river, but also the idea of concentrating on a point, of directing the gaze, of seeing between (Entrevue series).
The exhibition brings together some fifteen paintings produced over the last few months, most of them in series. The …
