Peter Buechler shows excerpts from his artistic world, which expresses itself in its own surreal ambiguity. "The Invention of New York" is a selection of new works that give room to subjective associations and individual experiences in relation to the metropolis.

The Berlin-based artist follows in the tradition of Marcel Duchamp's diversity - contrasting combinations of found materials, old canvases and archival materials are brought to light and invent their own contemporary visual world. Viewers are challenged to readjust and reassess their viewing habits through assemblages with painting, print, installation, or objects. He often uses old masterly techniques and simultaneously breaks with their conventions, creating an intellectual and artistic interface that has a resonant and provocative impact.
