The artist Birgit Kirke was born and raised in the Faroe Islands. She now lives in Herning, Denmark, where she has her own studio. Birgit studied textile design at the VIA design school in Herning in 1981. In the years 2007 – 2010 she studied painting, drawing and graphics at the Aarhus Art School and then studied sculpture at the Sculpture School in Skandeborg.
