In "Residency 2023-2024," the exhibition's defining piece, 'A Night in Athens (Seven Deadly Sins),' embodies an epic collaboration between the artists. Here, the surreal and the familiar collide in a vivid portrayal of Athenian nightlife, where mythological entities and human patrons share a common playground. This work, along with others in the exhibition, invites viewers into a compelling narrative space where myths are not just stories of the past but are alive, mutating, and evolving within today’s cultural psyche.
This partnership between Diamantidou and Geros exemplifies the synergy possible when collective creativity that derives a shared cultural repository is directed towards the exploration of contemporary human experiences.
"We invite the public to join us in experiencing the evocative works of Maria Diamantidou and Zois Geros. The exhibition is not only a showcase of their talents but also a celebration of the enduring relevance of mythology in understanding our present and imagining our futures," said Lee Wells from IFAC Arts.
