The female body is the protagonist in Pellizzi’s work; it is decomposed, transformed and stylized until it becomes a geometric motif, simultaneously inspired by the iconographies of the Italian Renaissance, American Pop art and the Mexican textile tradition. This is the case of the Plastex series, here, placid and solitary bodies of strong swimmers -or goddesses in bathing suits- float among the waves and seem to merge with the landscape.
