The project we are presenting for this year’s ARCOlisboa 2020 on-line aims to reconstruct the personal evolution of the geometric language employed by some members of EQUIPO 57 following the breakup of the group in 1962. Just five years had passed since the manifesto of 1957 in which various Spanish artists criticised the mechanisms of production and the market, announcing their commitment to the struggle to renew the art-world system during the dictatorial period in Spain at that date while setting out their aim to integrate artists in society and to establish a clear social function for Art.
