Press Release

The artist, born in Ukraine in 1885, made her home in Paris in the 1920s, where she contributed to the joy and creativity of the famous "Roaring Twenties". With Robert Delaunay, and alongside the painters Kupka, Léger and Picabia, she assiduously practised Orphism and pushed back the boundaries of a nascent abstract art.

Sonia Delaunay's work is attracting renewed interest, particularly her printmaking. Sonia Delaunay practised lithography, engraving and screen printing, as well as ceramics, enabling her to express herself using new techniques and to disseminate her work.
