The « Toilet » project of the artist Meekyoung Shin consists of putting soap statues that are made so that the viewer could use them in the restroom to wash their hands.
After wich they are collected for the exhibition in the museum once they are installed for an exhibition, the process of the sculpture erosion is stopped and they become ARTIFACTS.
The soap statues in the restroom encourage audience participation which gives each statues its provenance according to its location, culture, religion where it is located.
This is an ongoing project of Meekyoung Shin and she has placed her statues in museum and gallery bathrooms all over the world.
