About

Immaculate Misconception is a group show in which eleven artists
reinvestigate iconography of the Virgin Mary. This exhibition aims to
uncover the intricate ways in which the figure of the Madonna and its
contradicting ideals of womanhood have filtered from high religious art
into the public consciousness, and wishes to provide alternative visions.
