About
Statement
MEDEL GALLERY SHU is pleased to present " Complex Contours," a solo exhibition by Keiko Aikawa from August 1 through August 13. Aikawa was born in Niigata Prefecture in 1989 and is an up-and-coming artist who has emerged in the past few years.
Press Release
Her unique works, which seem to be an interpretation of Fauvism and Cubism from her own point of view, are divided into two series: a geometric series whose coloring and motifs = faces are very impressive, and portraits with an air of ennui. This exhibition also consists of new portrait works from these two series.
The theme of this exhibition is "complexity," and based on the complexity of human perception and sensation, she hopes to lead the viewer to touch the essential part of the human being.
