About

Statement

The theme of this exhibition is Sakura, the most beloved flower of the Japanese people.

Press Release

Hanami (花見, "flower viewing") is the Japanese traditional custom of enjoying the transient beauty of flowers; flowers ("hana") are in this case almost always referring to those of the Sakura. The Sakura, which bloom for about a week from late March to early April, are not only Japan's favorite flower, but also the quintessence of the Japanese spirit. This online-only exhibition showcases Sakura as captured by Japanese artists.
