Back to Paradise Row at Armory Show 2013

About

Statement

Paradise Row's presentation is designed and imagined in response to J.G. Ballard's early short story 'Report on an Unidentified Space Station'. In the tale a group of astronauts report from an abandoned space station that mysteriously grows in size as they explore it, until it becomes apparent that the universe is a space station unto itself. In their final log reports the astronauts articulate an ecstatic religious response to this discovery. The piece can be read as an allegory of the relationship between the world of what we know and the potentially infinite universe we inhabit. The group presentation will comprise of a series of work, ranging in form across most media, many of which were made specifically for the booth and are set within an overarching booth design.
