About
Statement
In Santiago Licata's phenomenology, light appears as a
soul entity that takes control over the object it reflects and makes it flash,
vaporize and lose its density.
Press Release
After seven years since his last individual exhibition, the artist
will display in the recently new space of the gallery a set
of drawings made in graphite, ferrite, enamel and chalk together with a series
of concrete sculptures. In his recent works, Santiago does not seek
reasons to represent, he finds them. Discover how
result of its procedure, the gesture precedes the decision on the
representation. Thus, he frees himself and at the same time becomes a captive of the
random result that comes from the encounter with the paper.
