Underbelly is a study in ways of seeing exploring the methodological, embodied, and aesthetic impulses at the root of Jordan’s work. She turns to Black surrealism, Afro-Caribbean spiritualism, and the body as sources of knowledge of ways that have been disallowed but protected.
