PLAY : In Partnership with London Design Festival and part of Shoreditch Design Design We welcome you to an engaging evening to meet some of our talented artists participating in PLAY. Carla Wright, Vic Wright, Woo Jin Joo, and Ying Zheng will be present to share insights and a deeper understanding into their creative practices, discuss their artistic journeys, and explore the themes that inspire their work. About our Featured Artists: Carla Wright, an artist based in East Sussex, creates ceramic sculptures that explores connection, co-operation and community. Known for her innovative approach to mixed media, blending traditional techniques with contemporary themes. During the event, she will share insights into her artistic journey and the inspirations that drive her work. Vic Wright, a sculptor from Greater Manchester recognised for her casting techniques utilises sustainable casting cement, incorporating various materials to achieve an explorative approach highlighting a unique perspective on creating a visual language that reflects an enhanced and distorted interpretation of the natural world. Woo Jin Joo, a London - based textile designer specialises in embroidery and mixed media. With a focus on cultural identity and personal expression, Woo Jin Joo’s work invites viewers to explore complex themes. Ying Zheng's work addresses social alienation, consumerism and the human experience. Her recent works, explores the essence of emotions and relationships. Through the use of gloop glazes and vibrant colours and form, Ying captures inner tensions of social norms reflecting from her diverse experiences.
