Searching for extremely rare historic ensembles, cultivating relationships with contemporary fashion designers, and the research, planning and expertise necessary to style a major fashion exhibition make up some of the fascinating behind-the-scene stories that Sharon S. Takeda, Senior Curator and Department Head of Costume and Textiles at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), will reveal in this fully illustrated lecture outlining the development of the groundbreaking exhibition, "Reigning Men: Fashion in Menswear, 1715–2015."

Fashion world icon André Leon Talley in dialogue with Eric Johnson, executive director of the Saint Louis Fashion Incubator and Genny Cortinovis, assistant curator of decorative arts and design at the Saint Louis Art Museum, will explore the intersections between fine art and men’s fashion, past, present and future. Mr. Talley is the former editor-at-large for Vogue magazine. This program is made possible through a partnership with the St. Louis Fashion Fund and is part of SLFF’s "Speaking of Fashion" series sponsored by the Regional Arts Commission.
