Join us for a First Friday Opening Reception celebrating new works by SLATE artists *Maria Burtis, Maya Kabat and *Elise Morris. Inspired by the environments in which we live and work, from our structured cityscapes and expansive seascapes, to our beautiful California wilderness, these painters attempt to describe our experience of immaterial realities such as being in light and space. On a more concrete level they explore the boundaries between known forms and abstraction, and ultimately push us to notice how not only how we experience our environments, but also how felt and remembered experiences collide with the present. *Artists will be in attendance
