Sorelle Gallery Announces First Exhibition Of 2018 NEW CANAAN, CT – Sorelle Gallery Fine Art celebrates its first exhibition of 2018 with ‘OPALINE: Works by Teodora Guererra and Dmitri Wright’, accompanied by a designer vignette, ‘STATEMENT PIECES’, by I.M. SMITTEN of Trumbull, CT. For Additional Information, Stay Social with Sorelle by Visiting: http://www.sorellegallery.com/social-media/ Teodora Guererra’s abstract artistic vision evolved throughout time spent painting and teaching in Fairfield County, Connecticut; Tucson, Arizona; and upstate New York. Arizona’s naturally radiant landscape and arid climate led her to experiment with rich under-painting and vivid color; while the shifting East Coast seasons inspired her dripping and staining techniques. Important artistic influences include Pat Steir and Morris Louis. “I’m an addict – obsessed and driven,” says Guererra. “I have to make art and the process is the drug. I work in a conscious, subconscious state, which can be tormenting and sublime at the same time. She is a risk taker and experiments with different materials to layer, stain and drip color. My paintings evoke fluid movement that are both organic and minimalistic.” Guererra’s talent and drive have earned her a place in public and private collections across the U.S. and abroad, including the Allmen Health and Wellness Center for Women and SUNY Brockport to name a few. Dmitri Wright is a painter, master art instructor, inspirational speaker, and poet. His classical academic training in the foundations used by the Renaissance and Impressionist masters is evident in his work as an American ‘Expressionist Impressionist’. His melodic brushstrokes and unexpected palette are results of extensive plein air painting in Italy’s Lazio, Tuscany and Umbria, France’s Provence Cote d’Azur, and New England’s coastline. Affluent study at Cooper Union, Brooklyn Museum Art School, and Newark School of Fine & Industrial Arts; along with strong artistic mentors (Samuel Brecher, Rueben Tam, Wolf Kahn and Will Barnet) also influence his lyrical landscape paintings. Dmitri Wright says of his method, "In landscapes of light through color I look toward capturing those transcendent musical elements of light within nature, to express its reflective beauty and underlying mystical reality through color and form." Wright’s work is housed in collections throughout the U.S., as well as Japan, Italy, and China. Museums include the National Art Museum of Sport, Newark Museum, Brooklyn Museum. Corporate collections include Time Warner, Sloan Kettering, AT&T, Wells Fargo Bank, Pitney Bowes, Verizon, and Connecticut Water Co. Presenting STATEMENT PIECES: A DESIGNER VIGNETTE BY I.M.
