Artist Talk

Sat, Sep 12, 2020 from 5:00 – 6:30pm UTC
In conjunction with our current exhibition Interplay, Susan Eley Fine Art is delighted to announce an intimate artist talk and reception with Kathy Osborn at our Hudson location this Saturday, September 12, from 5-6:30PM. The talk will begin promptly at 5:30PM. Please join us to learn more about her artistic process, how the scenes in her work are created and where she gets her inspiration from. Osborn’s cinematic paintings hark back to the 1950s and 60s post-war era--characterized by a boom in wealth, glorified consumerism and the practice of traditional domestic roles. This time period has been depicted in art and culture in countless ways, often with a strong sense of longing for “simpler times”. Osborn’s work, however, lacks this nostalgia. She addresses the darkness of the nuclear age that was buried beneath layers of cultural repression.
