Geoffrey Dorfman: Milton Resnick and the Specter of the Blank

Sat, Dec 1, 2018 from 4:00 – 5:00pm UTC
Please join us for a lecture by Resnick biographer and Foundation trustee, Geoffrey Dorfman. Dorfman will argue that Milton Resnick's work, by imbuing stringent abstraction with evocations of the sublime, constitutes an umbilical link between implacable Modernism and the nineteenth century Romantic spirit. Geoffrey Dorfman’s book, Out Of the Picture: Milton Resnick and the New York School, was published in 2003. His writing has appeared in Artforum, Stagebill Magazine, and catalog essays for major galleries and museums. Dorfman has lectured on Resnick’s work extensively.
