Artist Talk

Sat, Mar 23, 2019 from 2:00 – 3:00pm UTC
The Hamptons Arts Network Weekend Festival (THAW Fest) launches three days of exhibitions, theater performances, film, music, garden tours, workshops, community engagement and family-focused events across member organizations of the Hamptons Arts Network. Join 2019 Inga Maren Otto Fellow, Marina Rosenfeld for In Process @ The Watermill Center, presented as part of the Hamptons Arts Network THAW Fest. A composer and artist working across disciplines, Rosenfeld's work has explored experimental practices in sound and performance since the 1990s, when she mounted her first all-female electric-guitar ensembles under the name Sheer Frost Orchestra. Rosenfeld will share a new work-in-progress developed during her residency at The Watermill Center, in advance of a premiere as part of Time:Spans festival in New York this August. Drawing on her prolific history creating dub plates, or acetate test LP pressings, as the basis for performances and installation works, the piece integrates turntablism, notation and photography.
