Artist Talk
Thu, Apr 25 from 6:00 – 9:00pm CDT
We invite you to meet the artist on Thursday, April 25th 6pm – 9pm and experience this vibrant and dynamic display of 36 paintings. This Distillery wide ART AFTER HOURS event will be the perfect opportunity to ask Michel questions about his work.
COMÉDIE HUMAINE, reflects on the intimacy of existence. It is inspired by how society changes throughout the evolution of its people, admiring how different communities, roles, and lifestyles altar the skin. How do people exchange parts of themselves to one another? Blouin is fascinated by the masks we wear and the choices behind how society presents itself. Through the contemplation of poetry and nature, the artist`s paintings are the reflection of his daydreams, where colours represent feelings, and shapes embody thoughts. The artist’s exploration of the human experience, and the history of the world, is unmistakable in this series. He weaves his own representation of the cycles of life portraying a fervent desire to live without compromise and his creations stand as a reflection of the world’s profound and eternal clamour.
