Work Files is an improvised performance by artist Tim Etchells focused on spoken language, drawing on its rhythmic, textural and musical properties as well as its semantics. The raw material for the work, as with Etchells neon and drawing practice, are the fragments of text, ideas, overheard conversation, cut-paste quotations from newspapers and web pages, ideas for performances, rough drafts, and other notes that he has accumulated over the years - a kind of linguistic archive.
