My work focuses on representation of people of color in all facets of life from branding to creative expression. With a passion for acrylic, oil, and digital paint, my art embodies a plethora of emotions and beliefs. "There is just so much beauty in the world that gets overlooked because it seems irrelevant ...but I am so obsessed with those subtle, fleeting, seemingly insignificant moments that its become a common theme in my art."
As an emerging artist I discovered my love for art one day when I found art supplies in my son's room. it inspired me to start sketching and exploring different forms of art, including realistic portraits and chromatic colors. I realized that vibrant colors drive my creativity allowing me to express my emotions through my art. I have participated in various art fairs, including the mvVo Art/AD Art Show. which showcase my work at the World Trade Center in New York City. it was a honor to have my paintings display in this Iconic building. By participating in this art show it gave me the opportunity to sell my paintings on Artsy.net. I have also created paintings for organizations, such as a hospital in New York City, to express gratitude to the heroic doctors and nurses during the pandemic. My passion for art has helped me develop my own identity and allowed me to discover my skills and remain open to changes.
My process centers on appreciating diversity, storytelling, and deep engagement with the subject, transcending cultural differences. I challenge the audience to see beyond their own skin, capturing the unique essence of individuals and fostering pride in their cultural backgrounds. Each piece is a narrative woven from fragments of a person's existence, inviting viewers to engage with the invisible connections and stories that define us. Through abstraction, symbolism, and the interplay of light and shadow, my portraits become a reflection of the human experience, where absence speaks as powerfully as presence.
