Christiane Fischer, President and CEO of AXA Art Americas in conversation with Robert K. Wittman, former Senior Investigator and Founder of the FBI’s National Art Crime Team. Fischer will probe stories behind astonishing true cases and successful recoveries led by Mr. Wittman and his team.

Wanda Nanibush, guest curator at the Art Gallery of Ontario, and Sarah Robayo Sheridan, curator at Justina M. Barnicke Gallery, will discuss some of the nascent ideas of a history not yet written – the history of contemporary art in Toronto.

The panel is moderated by Gabriela Rangel, Americas Society, New York, who will converse with curators Beverly Adams, Blanton Museum of Art, Austin, TX, and Tahia Rivero, Colección Mercantil, Caracas, about the curatorial strategies used to position Latin American art within the larger western art historical canon.

POWER TALK / Carlos Amorales: Black Cloud
Presented by The Power Plant
Carlos Amorales’ large scale installation, Black Cloud, currently on view at The Power Plant, consists of 30,000 black moths cut out of paper. Amorales will address Black Cloud within the context of his artistic practice including his Liquid Archive, a digital database of images he has been building since 1998.
