RBC Returns to Celebrate 12 Years of Partnership and Collaboration
Art Toronto is excited to announce the return of RBC as the Presenting Sponsor of the 2017 art fair. RBC is celebrating its 12th year in partnership with Art Toronto, demonstrating their commitment to the arts in Canada and abroad.
RBC Canadian Painting Competition
As part of their 2017 programming at Art Toronto, RBC will display work by the 15 finalists of the 19th annual RBC Canadian Painting Competition, a unique initiative that supports promising emerging artists across Canada by offering financial support, national exposure and mentorship.
This year’s finalists were selected by a distinguished jury of 7 respected members of the Canadian visual arts community from among 682 submissions. The 15 finalists are listed below:

This year, the competition will award a total of $85,000 in prize money with a top prize of $25,000. Two honorable mentions each receive $15,000 while the remaining finalists all receive $2,500. The three winning paintings will also become part of the RBC Art Collection, one of the most valuable corporate collections in Canada, consisting of more than 4,500 pieces of art that have been collected since 1929.
The final winners will be announced on October 17, 2017 at The National Gallery of Canada in Ottawa.
