Madrid’s UVNT Art Fair opened its eighth edition today in a new venue, Matadero Madrid, running in time with Madrid Art Week through March 10th. The new location has enabled the fair to expand its presence, welcoming 38 national and international galleries (up from 34 in 2023). The presentation reflects a variety of current art trends, with an emphasis on figuration and painting.

The new venue, 10 meters high and almost 3,000 square meters in area, responds to the needs of UVNT’s guests and exhibitors. “We’ve been considering the idea of moving for some time,” said Sergio Sancho, founder and director of UVNT. “Among other things, some of the galleries were starting to need more space, and Matadero Madrid had what we were looking for,” he added.

The event will feature the annual UVNT Mahou Talks, a series of conversations and activations in a space designed by Studio Animal. Additionally, the fair continues its support for emerging galleries through the Young Galleries section, which is dedicated to making the art world more accessible to young galleries and collectors alike; exhibitors in this section include Berlín Galería and Voskhod Gallery.

The UVNT Art Fair emphasizes its engagement with the local community through its public art program. This program, sponsored by Lexus, includes art installations from artists like Grip Face and Óscar Abraham Pabón throughout Madrid, aiming to integrate art into the urban landscape and engage a wider audience.
