Focus Art Fair Announces 2023 New York Edition

Focus Art Fair is an annual contemporary art fair organized by HongLee, an international art agency based in Paris. Each year, we gather and introduce galleries from over 40 countries under one theme selected according to the ongoing art trend and issues. In an immense Art scene composed of global galleries, artists, artworks, and collectors, FOCUS aims to become a one of kind event that can inspire a new artistic wave, through a world tour at the global art market hubs such as Paris, London, and New York.

Following our success in collaboration with Samsung at the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris and the Saatchi Gallery in London, we are bringing the excitement to Chelsea, New York, Lotte Tower in Seoul, and the Saatchi Gallery in London. As our first step, in May 2023, we are taking Focus to the Chelsea Industrial located in the heart of New York City during the Frieze Art Week, a time of the largest gathering of art collectors from all around the world.

The unprecedented global pandemic has had a profound impact on the art world over the past few years, with the emergence of digital art and new ways of exhibiting and trading art that have never been encountered in the traditional art market. Focus Art Fair recognizes that these changes will have long-term impacts on the art scene, and aims to become a unified art ecosystem that can incorporate these rapidly changing trends.

We believe that Metaverse, NFTs, VR, and other forms of digital art will not displace traditional art forms such as painting, sculpture, photography, and installations, but rather coexist with them. However, these technologies are already having a significant impact on our daily lives, and we believe that these changes and movements in the art scene will not be a temporary phenomenon that will fade away.

Therefore, we want to become an ecosystem that harmoniously showcases and embraces a wide range of artworks and exhibition methods which naturally influence one another, just as there are multiple biomes in a single ecosystem. This will provide collectors and audiences with the visual excitement and satisfaction they expect from contemporary art, as well as a wide range of topics, and galleries and artists with new perspectives and ideas.

Focus New York will be promoted for a week on one of the largest displays in New York's iconic Times Square. Focus New York will be covered by numerous media outlets in the U.S., including the New York Times, as well as through Artsy, one of the most influential platforms in the global art scene.
