Asia NOW Selects: Alain Servais

The art collector Alain Servais selects some of the most compelling pieces from Asia NOW, the Paris Asian Art Fair.

Alain Servais, Collector and Founder of The Servais Family Collection, is an investment banker. He has cultivated a community of art appreciators through his professional endeavours, as well as by making his art collection accessible to the public. Servais embarked on his collection journey more than two decades ago and currently possesses more than 800 contemporary art pieces across various media. He aptly states, "I never let myself be guided by a simple 'coup de coeur'. I follow the artist for a while, spotting his key works, frequenting museums, visiting galleries and monitoring public sales. This is how I was able to obtain crucial and affordable works by Cindy Sherman, Gerhard Richter, Barbara Kruger, Loretta Lux and Jenny Holzer” (Quoted in Belgische Collectors Belges, 2010).
