Ahead of a showing of his work at Artissima Art Fair, Turin, 4-6 November, Peter Matthews talked to Art.Zip about time, calligraphy, and his love of the ocean.
'When I mix the ocean water with the ink I feel there’s a very mystical and cosmic, one could say very poetic exchange and interaction taking place. The history of the ink medium joins an alchemistic sense of poetry with the depths and the unknown of the ocean and I am very intrigued by this relationship.'
