Turkey’s premier contemporary art fair, Contemporary Istanbul, returns for its 19th edition from October 24-27, 2024, with a preview day on October 23. Held in main partnership with Akbank, the fair will feature 53 galleries, including 21 top Turkish galleries, set across the historic Tersane Istanbul with breathtaking views of the Golden Horn.

Spain & Latin America Focus Section This year’s guest country program spotlights Spain, Spanish-speaking countries, and Latin America. The Spain & Latin America Focus Section brings together renowned galleries such as Andrea Rehder Gallery (São Paulo), Berlin Galleria (Sevilla), Jorge Lopez Galeria (Valencia), Galería Jose de la Mano (Madrid), and W Galeria (Buenos Aires). A standout of this year’s edition is Born in the Seventies, curated by Juan Manuel Bonet, former director of Reina Sofía Museum. The exhibition, supported by Spain’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Spanish Embassy in Turkey, showcases 21 unique artworks from 15 Spanish galleries, offering a deep exploration of contemporary Spanish art.

The Yard Outdoor Exhibition Curated by Marc Olivier Wahler, The Yard presents 19 sculptures and installations by international artists, exhibited along the scenic waterfront of the Golden Horn and the Rixos Hall A terrace. This open-air exhibition merges the energy of contemporary art with the historic surroundings of Istanbul, creating a truly immersive experience for visitors.

CIF Dialogues Conference Program In collaboration with IGA Art and Artsy, the CIF Dialogues conference series will host thought-provoking discussions on the intersection of art, digital innovation, and artificial intelligence, with a special focus on Spain and Latin America. Esteemed speakers include curator Marc Olivier Wahler, the Advisor to the Royal Commission for Riyadh City Miguel Blanco-Carrasco and digital strategist Sureyya Wille. Contemporary Istanbul continues to play a vital role in positioning Istanbul as a major global hub for contemporary art.

As the fair approaches its 20th anniversary, it reinforces its commitment to fostering cultural dialogue, bringing together artists, galleries, and collectors from around the world, while celebrating the dynamic spirit of this vibrant city.
